Explore Infinity Island, the Largest World Built on ENGAGE XR

This Thursday, XR enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see the largest virtual environment ever build on the Engage XR platform. Called Infinity Island, this world is the brainchild of Kurt Jackson and Ambrose Cavalier.

Luminara, Institute of Light, is hosting the 90-minute guided tour on Thursday, October 1, from 12 PM to 1:30 PM PT. Kurt Jackson (SN1XR) will lead participants through the island’s many environments, from the Grand Garden and Art Walk to mountain peaks, bamboo forests, hidden caverns, and underground rivers and lakes. All of this optimized in a way that supports both PCVR and standalone headsets. Infinity Island also features an impressive custom lighting system with more than 3,700 real-time lights.

The organizers describe the tour as an example of “what becomes possible when imagination, immersive design, and human connection come together.” Beyond sightseeing, the session aims to show how spatial worlds can support learning, reflection, and shared presence, themes that sit at the heart of Luminara’s mission.

Luminara is a nonprofit initiative chaired by VR pioneer Tom Furness. It emerged from the Virtual World Society and explores how emerging technologies, creativity, and human connection can uplift humanity. The organization regularly hosts gatherings for its community members, known as Luminara Pioneers.

The tour will take place inside ENGAGE XR and will also be livestreamed on Zoom. Those interested can visit Luminara for access details.
